Shaped Options

Shaped Units inc. Raked Tops, Arches and other shapes are available as an extra for your sealed unit/s. For a single straight cut (Raked/Triange units) simply select 'Single Cut Shape'. For circles, arches, templates and any other shapes select the 'Multi-Cut Shape' option. The website calculates your unit price based on the option you have chosen. Once you have placed the order our customer service team will contact you to discuss your shaped requirements. You can either supply us a drawing or send us actual templates to match.

Stepped Unit Options

We can supply Glass Sealed Units with steps to suit your requirements. 'Stepped Units' are when one pane of the double glazed unit is larger than the other. This creates a step that can be for several purposes. The common use for stepped units are conservatory roof units and skylight units. On Conservatory roofs this is used as a drip for water to flow into guttering and keeping moisture clear of the double glazed seal. Another reason for a step is pictured below where it is used for skylights and allows the upper pane to be placed onto the upstands and again allowing water to drip clear of the seal and used to cover/waterproof the upstands. The website calculates your unit price based on the number of edges that requires a step. Once you have placed the order our customer service team will contact you to discuss your step requirements.

Slimline Heritage Double Glazed Units are specially designed insulated glass units for period, traditional and heritage-style windows where a conventional double-glazed unit would be too thick. They provide the benefits of double glazing while maintaining a much slimmer appearance, making them particularly suitable for sash, casement, timber and steel windows where preserving the original character of the property is important. Glass Delivered supplies made-to-measure heritage slimline units tailored to period window specifications.

Yes. A correctly specified insulated glass unit will provide significantly better thermal insulation than single glazing. Performance varies according to the glass type, cavity size, gas fill, Low-E coating and overall unit construction. For this reason, we recommend selecting the specification based on both the available space and the required thermal performance.

In many cases, yes. Slimline units are specifically designed for applications where the available glazing rebate is too shallow for conventional double glazing. They can be suitable for existing timber sash and casement windows, as well as other traditional window systems. However, every window is different, so the available rebate should be checked before ordering.

Yes. One of the main advantages of slimline heritage glazing is its discreet appearance. The slim overall profile and narrow sightlines help the finished glazing retain the proportions and character associated with traditional single glazing. Heritage or restoration glass can also be specified where an authentic period appearance is required.
